This patient is pictured here before and after nasal reconstruction for skin cancer. This patient had a large defect of the left nasal ala and cheek following removal of a skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma) using Moh’s surgery technique. This skin cancer defect was reconstructed in a staged fashion with a left ear cartilage graft and left pedicled nasolabial flap. Three weeks following the initial operation, the healed flap pedicle was divided and inset. Pictured above is a typical result following repair of this type of defect. The patient has not undergone an elective third stage for flap thinning and contour.
*photos on this post are of an actual patient of Dr. Brenner.
