Since being reintroduced to the cosmetic surgery market for breast augmentation in 2006, silicone gel breast implants have continued to increase in popularity. Silicone breast implants are a fantastic alternative to saline breast implants because they tend to look and feel much more like native breast tissue.  In my practice, women tend to choose silicone breast implants (over saline breast implants) about 80% of the time. The advent and implementation of the Keller Funnel for use during breast augmentation surgery has allowed for silicone breast implants to be placed more rapidly, through slightly smaller incisions, and have nearly eliminated direct contact with the implant during the procedure. Keller Funnel, Inc. has recently introduced their brand new certification seal, which designates plastic surgeons who regularly and proficiently utilize this technique.
